Walk Against Rape Campaign

We are the pioneer Walk Against Rape Movement in Nigeria. We create awareness, seek justice, and encourage rape victims to BREAK THE SILENCE.

Walk Against Rape Campaign (WARC) is a special demonstration that brings youth advocates, activists, faith-based organisations, NGOs, CSOs, student delegates, and entertainers alike to lend their voices to the sexually abused in the society, particularly women and the girl child. In the past one decade, with partnership from the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, we have been able to organise the walk and also work closely with the Ministry by referring rape cases for onward attention.

As an organisation, we follow up to with the law enforcement agencies to ensure the victims get the justice they deserve and the perpetrators of the crimes are duly punished. The walk comes up annually on the 10th of March with average participants of 2000. The goal of the Walk Against Rape Campaign is 1. To use “Walk Against Rape” as a tool to inform the society about the soaring scourge of rape especially as it relates to young girl and women in general. 2. To help in encouraging the victims to speak out and reduce the stigmatisation often encountered by victims of rape and sexual abuse.
